CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano triathletes flexed their athletic muscles as they made waves in the 2016 XTerra Malaysia-Asia Pacific Tour yesterday at the Berjaya Resort in Langkawi, Malaysia.

Ford Forza Triathlon’s Joseph Miller came out seventh overall in the premiere division behind Ben Allen of Australia. With this, Miller's overall standing in the pro division is expected to improve.

Miller started his XTerra campaign this year with a ninth place finish during the Albay leg last February 8, one month later, he followed it up with a third place performance in Saipan.

On the other hand, Miller's coach in Elmo Clarabal placed second under the 35-39 division in the off-road triathlon event which featured 1.5k swim, 30k bike and 11k run.

Cebu-based Motor Ace Racing also grabbed medals as its team owner Jonel Borromeo finished the lung-busting race under the 45-49 age group.

Tolitz Albina ruled  the 30-34 division, while Jose Mari Timothy Colmenares secured the bronze medal in the 45-49 class.

Colmenares decided to push through his bid despite nursing an elbow injury following a hit-and-run incident last Wednesday during a practice.  (FREEMAN)
