Cebuanos shine in Century Tuna Ironman
CEBU, Philippines - Jorry Ycong led the cast of Cebuano triathletes who made waves in the 2016 Century Tuna Ironman 70.3 Philippines in Subic Bay yesterday.
Ycong took the third placed honors in the Filipino elite category after finishing the race in four hours, 35 minutes and 48 seconds. He finished 20th in the overall rankings ruled by Australian Craig Alexander.
Rider Omega Pro’s Banjo Norte wound up fourth with 4:42:50, while Ford Forza's Joseph Miller settled for fifth place with 4:44:19 clocking.
Completing the top eight place in the Filipino elite were Paul Jumamil, John Philip Duenas and Kristiane Lim,
Elmo Clarabal and Jose Merdino Lim were the ninth and 35th placers in the 35-39 class, respectively.
Gianluca Guidicelli landed in the 19th place in the 50-54 division with 6:47:59 as her daughter Giorgia secured the eight spot in the 24-29 category with 6:50:58 clocking.
Kristian Cabahug came out at 12th place in the 30-34 class with 5:43:52, Maria Victoria Tan placed sixth in the 40-44 with 6:16:38 clocking as former football player Voltaire Montebon (6:06:31) occupied the 44th place in the 35-39 division and veteran triathlete Noy Jopson ended at 15th place in the 40-44 class with a time of 5:15:26.— (FREEMAN)
