Bayan: Marcos is incompetent

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  BAYAN-Central Visayas, together with multisectoral organizations across Cebu, staged a protest along Osmeña Boulevard to express their opposition to the current administration, ahead of the 37th People Power anniversary today.

The protesters said that Bongbong Marcos is incompetent in solving the people’s concerns and has even shown a lack of interest in it.

Instead, the president and his cronies chose to travel around the globe while the people continue to languish from the increasing prices of goods and services, lack of decent work, and low wages laments the group.

The group also felt that the country continues to suffer from the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown, paralyzing numerous workers, mainly minimum wage earners, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Paglinawan pointed out that the Marcos Jr. administration has been slow in responding to the needs of those affected by the pandemic and has given little financial aid to mitigate the impact — if there was any aid at all in the first place.

Angay gyud batukan ang administrasyong Marcos Jr,” Paglinawan said.

He also called out the Marcos Jr. administration for continuing to allow foreign nations to have a say in the dealings and policies of the Philippines, which he believes is a continued threat to our sovereignty and independence.

BAYAN-Central Visayas again called on for the abolishment of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) which, it claimed, continued the red-tagging and massacre of activists and ordinary civilians in the country.

— GAN (FREEMAN)
