CH resumes campaign versus 'spaghetti' wires

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City’s Oplan Ratsada is back on the streets to address backlogs in clearing dangling cables and spaghetti wires around the city.

Oplan Ratsada’s action team leader, Councilor Jerry Guardo, said their focus for several months was the Sinulog route as well as in the City Hall area and Carbon Market area.

Oplan Ratsada’s main focus is the major thoroughfares, but Guardo said they are also attending to requests from the barangays.

“Naay mga pending request nga wa namo pa maatiman kay there was an instruction from the Mayor na unahon namo ang sa Carbon, Freedom Park, and Sinulog route, processional route, it took two months namo to na operations,” said Guardo.

With the Sinulog already over, Guardo said, they are now back to attending to the pending requests of the barangays which concerns mostly low-lying wires.

“Karon, amo ng gisugdan ang kaning ilang request. First, gi-evaluate sa namo, kung critical na gyud kaayo, low-lying poles, mao nay unahon,” Guardo added.

Aside from that, another team is also looking into clearing the other major thoroughfares that still have some dead and dangling wires.

“Balik na sad mi’s mga main thoroughfares, balik mi’s Escario, Gorordo area and other areas for clearing operations, bandling,” said Guardo.

Guardo, who oversees the Oplan Ratsada said they will continue to do this until the end of the year. (FREEMAN)
