Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Employees of the Lapu-Lapu City Hall will have another reason to have a merry Christmas, so to speak, as Mayor Junard Chan is looking at giving them bonuses up to P25,000 due to their “good performance.”

This as the city continued to reap various awards, including the 10 recognitions recently given by the Department of Health-7.

According to Chan, he will be giving performance bonuses to regular, coterminous, and casual employees.

Chan said for those employees who receive P25,000 or less in monthly pay, they will receive a P25,000 performance bonus.

For those who receive more than P25,000 in monthly pay, the employee will receive a performance bonus equivalent to his monthly pay, while job order employees will receive P13,000 differentials if they work from January to December.

The performance bonuses are expected to be released in the second week of December this year as city legislators are still currently working for the passage of the performance bonus budget.

“Mao na ni ang bunga sa ilahang kamatinud-anon nga pagpangalagad ug panerbisyo sa katawhang Oponganon, ubay ubay gyud ang nadawat nato nga award. Napulo ka awards ang nadawat sa Lapu-Lapu city for this year’s gikan sa Department of Health. Angayan lang gyud nga tagaan sila og incentive bonus,” the mayor said.

“Murag hakot award gyud, ang pinakadaghang og award for the entire Region 7 ang Lapu-Lapu City,” Chan said.

“Kining mga awards usa ka dakong bahandi kanatong mga Oponganon kay timaan kini sa atong panaghiusa ug pagtinabangay. Ato gayud nahatagan og tinuoray nga kahulogan nga ang pagtinabangay mao gayuy yawi sa atong kalambuan,” he also said in a Facebook post.

DOH-7 Awards

Aside from Lapu-Lapu City, more than 40 LGUs in Cebu and other LGUs also received awards from the DOH-7, which gave out more than 300 awards.

“Being an awardee is a testimony of your commitment and support to the achievement of our health sector goals of financial protection, responsiveness and better health outcomes as we continue to provide equitable, accessible, and quality health services for the people of Central Visayas. Our Mission: to develop a people-centered, resilient, and equitable health system,” said DOH-7 Director Jaime Bernadas in his speech during the awarding ceremony.

Bernadas said that the awarding ceremony is a venue to give recognition and appreciation to their valued partners and stakeholders for their efforts, unrelenting support and exemplary practices which, in one way or another, have contributed to our attainment of the health sector goals and objectives.

The awarding also recognized the outstanding individuals, private organizations, media companies and personalities, who have given a part of themselves by extending selfless service to the community.

The FREEMAN and Banat News were among the awardees and were given plaques of recognition.

“May this recognition ceremony renew your commitment to serve with integrity and excellence. Let us continue to be catalysts and strengthen ties as we promote greater collaboration toward a healthier Central Visayas and a healthier Pilipinas. We will move forward and continue to persevere together to achieve Universal Health Care.  We are all in this Together,” Bernadas further said. – JMD (FREEMAN)
