CEBU, Philippines — More than 1,000 local jobs are available for jobseekers during a job fair in Mandaue City next weekend.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-7 said at least 1,415 job vacancies have been listed as of August 8.

The top six positions with most number of vacancies are for customer service representatives (300); cashiers (130); store clerks (130); technical support representatives (100); financial service experts (100); and customer assistants (60).

DOLE-7 OIC regional director Lilia Estillore said that the upcoming job fair is primarily spearheaded by the Mandaue City Public Employment Service Office.

Estillore lauded Mandaue City PESO head Musoline Suliva for always exerting best effort in implementing the DOLE’s employment facilitation program.

She is optimistic that through Suliva’s leadership the upcoming job fair will be able to help provide employment to several people seeking for employment.

Interested jobseekers may visit the Mandaue City PESO Office located at the back portion of the Mandaue City Sports Complex, 3rd Level from Monday- Friday except on holidays from 8:00AM-5:00PM.

Jobseekers are reminded to get ready with their updated resume and curriculum vitae, bio data, picture (2x2), certificate of employment (if available), diploma/transcript of records, and authenticated birth certificate.

Estillore also urged applicants to prepare their requirements ahead of time and encouraged them to be cautious and observe the minimum public health standards.

A job fair is an employment facilitation strategy of DOLE aimed to fast-track the meeting of jobseekers and employers/overseas recruitment agencies in one venue at a specific date to reduce cost, time and effort particularly on the part of the applicants. — FPL (FREEMAN)
