Badian canyoneering temporarily stopped amid water level rise
CEBU, Philippines — The canyoneering activity in Badian town is now temporarily closed until further notice.
This after the local disaster risk reduction and management office (MDRRMO) of Badian recommended to close temporarily the site after it was observed that the water level has risen.
"Badian Canyoneering is temporarily closed today due to rising of water level declared by the Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO),” the Municipal Tourism Office of Badian, through its social media account, Breathtaking Badian, posted yesterday.
The declaration of MDRRMO is aimed at ensuring safety of all tour guides and even the tourists who want to experience the extreme water activity.
"For now, nag closed mi sa canyoneering. Dli pay exact date and time sa pag open.. But we will assist tomorrow morning (this morning) if okay na ba ang water level," a tourism officer of Badian told The Freeman
The MDRRMO has also deployed its personnel to monitor the situation in the site where the Matutinao River is located.
