CCLEX issues scam alert, traffic advisory

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  The operator of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway has alerted the public from scammers at the same time advising the closure of a portion of the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) for some time.

The CCLEX page announced that the CSCR northbound lane will be closed every 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for about a week from June 6 to 11, 2022.

This is done as they work on the installation of the portal gantries.

For this period, northbound motorists are advised to take the zipper lane from Il Corso to SM Seaside City through the southbound lane or take the alternate route through N. Bacalso Avenue.

Meanwhile, earlier, CCLEX also noted that there are individuals posing online as representatives of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation.

Scammers promised employment upon payment of fees for medical and document processing.

“We strongly advise applicants not to respond to such solicitations.”

MPTC, its affiliates and business units (including NLEX Corporation, MPT South Management Corporation, Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation, and MPT Mobility) are not collecting any fees from job applicants at any stage of their application process and even after being hired.

Official job vacancies and offers of the MPT Group are only posted on their official social media pages.

Any links other than the above are scams and are unauthorized.

For inquiries and reports on employment recruitment scams using the name of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation and its business units, one may email at [email protected].

“We encourage the public to be vigilant and be cautious on all their transactions,” the announcement reads. — GMR (FREEMAN)
