24 incumbent mayors get fresh term
CEBU, Philippines — Most incumbent mayors in Cebu who ran for a new term in the May 9, 2022 elections ended up actually winning fresh mandates.
At least 24 incumbent mayors of towns or cities composing Cebu province emerged victorious in their respective candidacies.
They are: Alcoy Mayor Michael Sestoso (One Cebu); Aloguinsan Mayor Ig-ig Moreno (One Cebu); Badian Mayor Carmencita Lumain (One Cebu); Balamban Mayor Ace Binghay (One Cebu); Bantayan Mayor Arthur Despi (One Cebu); Borbon Mayor Noel Dotillos (One Cebu); Carmen Mayor Carlo Villamor (One Cebu); Daanbantayan Mayor Sun Shimura (One Cebu);
Duamanjug Mayor Gungun Gica (One Cebu); Liloan Mayor Christina Garcia-Frasco (One Cebu); Medellin Mayor Joven Mondigo (One Cebu); Pilar Winkey Santiago (Bakud); Poro Mayor Edgar Rama (Bakud); Ronda Mayor Terence Blanco (One Cebu); San Franciso Mayor Al Arquillano (Bakud);
Sta. Fe Mayor Ithamar Espinosa (NUP); Santander Mayor Monic Buscato (One Cebu); Sibonga Mayor Lionel Bacaltos (NP); Sogod Mayor Monyeen Durano (One Cebu); Tuburan Aljun Diamante (IND); Tudela Mayor Greman Solante (Bakud); Bogo City Mayor Carlo Martinez (PPP); Toledo City Mayor Joie Perales (One Cebu); and Talisay Mayor Samsam Gullas (NP).
The FREEMAN collated the list of reelected mayors in Cebu province and the tally shows that at least 15 of them are from One Cebu party.
