CEBU, Philippines —  A Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) composed of 32 police personnel has been formed to anticipate number of rallies onwards now that the election was over.

The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) formed the CDM last Monday night, approximately hours after the election.

Police Lt. Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of CCPO, said this is after the Police Regional Office-7 required them to form one team.

While the canvassing of election results is ongoing, various youth groups opposing the Marcos-Duterte tandem staged a protest outside the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

"Naa man mi na-monitor na katawhan sa Facebook na mag walkout, then mag rally…but hopefully wala na no, but wala na nato gi-rule out nga naay mag-rally unyang hapon," said Parilla.

According to Parilla, although they sent cops to monitor the area, they weren't able to utilize their usage since the rallyists dispersed themselves immediately after airing their plea.

"Pero so far nahuman ra sad sila dayon, wala ra nato na utilize ang CDM considering nga gamay ra man sad sila kaayo unya ni dispersed ra man sad," said Parilla.

Aside from the police personnel in the area, the CCPO also deployed a mobile car on standby and traffic personnel. — GMR (FREEMAN)
