Iris Hazel M. Mascardo - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  The Liloan town police are still hunting for the eight armed men who allegedly robbed a house in Purok Lamech, Sitio Pamotongan in Barangay Jubay and took with them the 21-year-old student past midnight Saturday, April 9.

Police Staff Sergeant Niel Ryan Talle, desk officer of the Liloan Police Station, said the victim was Clark Condino, 21, a senior high school student.

According to Talle, the suspects who were wearing masks and ball caps forcibly entered the house of the victims where several items were stolen.

"Ang anak (Condino) sa biktima, gidala nila og gibuhian sa may suba," said Talle.

Condino was allegedly left by the suspects in the nearby Barangay Poblacion of the same town, approximately 3 to 5 kilometers from their house.

Among those that were stolen were P8,000 cash; a laptop, eight cellular phones, a motorcycle key, helmet, a driver's license and a backpack which contains various items.

Talle further said that victims claimed that the unknown suspects were allegedly looking for a certain “Edward”. There were four of them inside the house during that night.

"Wala sila (victims) kaila," said Talle referring to the certain Edward that suspects were looking for.

Condino and his mother personally went to the station and requested the assistance of the police at around 4:50 a.m.

Talle said they do not have any idea who might be the unknown robbers since they do not have individuals they caught in conflict with.

"Murag negosyante ni iyang inahan (Condino's mother)," Talle said.

Currently, investigators are looking for possible CCTV footage that may lead them to the identification of the unknown suspects.

Talle said the CCTV of their house was also taken away by the suspects during the commission of crime.

"As of now wala pa gyuy identity sa mga suspetsado," said Talle. — GMR (FREEMAN)
