Edna Inocando, manager of MCWD public information division, said the new water well gives an additional of 960 cubic meters of water supply daily.

CEBU, Philippines —  Residents of Barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City can now expect a better water supply from the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) with the commissioning of a new well in Solon Subdivision.

Edna Inocando, manager of MCWD public information division, said the new water well gives an additional of 960 cubic meters of water supply daily.

Inocando said it will also benefit around 960 households in Barangay Guadalupe. She said this is an augmentation to the existing water supply in the area.

“Guadalupe is one of the service areas of MCWD which is experiencing low pressure to no water. With the commissioning of said well at least residents will now enjoy a better service,” Inocando said.

The water district has a total of 137 operational wells strategically located within the eight local government units in Metro Cebu covering its franchise area.

Inocando said the construction of the new water well started in July 2020 and was completed a year after. The project costs the water district P3 million.

It was officially commissioned on November 9, 2021 but the blessing was held yesterday. Those who attended the blessing were MCWD acting general manager Engr. Stephen D. Yee, acting assistant general manager Engr. Edgar D. Ortega and other MCWD officials. — FPL (FREEMAN)
