CCLEX to close portion of South Coastal Road viaduct to traffic
CEBU, Philippines — One of the northbound lanes of Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) viaduct will be closed starting today, September 25, until October 31, 2021 due to the ongoing construction of the toll expressway.
In an advisory, the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) also announced that the entire CSCR viaduct will be closed to traffic from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on the same period.
"The closure is needed for CCLEX construction works. We apologize for the inconvenience," CCLEC said.
CCLEC undertakes the 8.5-kilometer toll expressway that will link the Municipality of Cordova and Cebu City. The third bridge is set to be completed by the end of this year and is set to open by the first quarter of 2022.
The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) project is now 83.84 percent complete. The toll expressway will use a full electronic toll system to allow faster traffic flow and seamless travel.
The project recently achieved the completion of the installation of all 56 stay cables that hold the main bridge deck. The contractor already installed all 434 NU (Nebraska University) girders for the whole project. Installation of precast planks and the concreting of deck slab are ongoing. — FPL (FREEMAN)
