Alcoy reopens public beaches to non-residents
Mayor Michael Angelo Sestoso has issued an executive order allowing non-residents to go bathing in all beaches in town after a ban closing town resorts was imposed since August 19, 2021.

CEBU, Philippines —  The municipal government of Alcoy in southern Cebu has reopened its public beaches to tourists effective yesterday.

Mayor Michael Angelo Sestoso has issued an executive order allowing non-residents to go bathing in all beaches in town after a ban closing town resorts was imposed since August 19, 2021.

“Non-Alcoyanon shall now be allowed bathing in all beaches within the territorial jurisdiction of the Municipality of Alcoy,” read the EO issued on September 10, 2021.

The EO also allows 50 percent maximum carrying capacity of the beach front area in accordance with EO No. 20-A issued by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

Eating and drinking on the beach front are not allowed.

Resort owners are mandated to comply with the requirements set by the Department of Tourism and the Provincial Tourism Office as well as the local government unit in its operation. — From Banat News, GMR (FREEMAN)
