Liloan police get mountain bikes from Frasco couple

Gregg M. Rubio - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  The Liloan police received five brand new mountain bicycles worth P10,000 each donated by Cebu Fifth District Representative Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco and his wife, Mayor Christina Frasco.

Rep. Frasco led the turnover in the presence of Cebu Police Provincial Office Director, Col. Engelbert Soriano; Liloan Police Station chief, Capt. Marvin Inocencio, Board Mike Villamor, and Councilor Kit Commendador.

Rep. Frasco is an avid advocate of health and well-being through physical activities and long-time supporters of the work of the Philippine National Police.

He said the mountain bikes will aid both in the physical well-being of police personnel and to ensure increased and effective policing for the continued peace and security of Liloan.

It can be recalled that the Frasco couple inaugurated last year a new police station in Barangay Jubay, Liloan.

Since Duke was elected representative of the Fifth District of Cebu, he has also facilitated the construction and turnover of several new police stations in the district including in the municipalities of Borbon and Pilar.

Just recently, Rep. Frasco led the turnover of a new three-storey police station worth P9.5 million in Borbon to the PNP.

The project is under the Convergence and Special Support Program on National Security implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Receiving the project were Police Regional Office 7 deputy regional director, Gen. Mafelino Bazar; Cebu Police Provincial Office director, Col. Engelbert Soriano, and Borbon Police Station chief, Lt. Ildefonso Rosales.

Present during the event were Borbon municipal officials led by Mayor Noel Dotillos, Vice Mayor Roy Melgo, town councilors and DPWH-7 Assistant Regional Director Mario Montejo.

To help the Police Station Women’s Desk, Frasco also made a personal donation of P20,000 in cash.

The project is just among the several key infrastructure projects Frasco recently has turned over to the municipality continuing the caravan of change he has brought to the fifth district since becoming its representative.  (FREEMAN)
