City logs lowest count of active cases in 4 months
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City has recorded the lowest number of active cases of COVID-19 since mid-January of this year with only 367 active cases left.
Cases have gone down further following the recovery of 56 patients as against 43 new cases added.
Positivity rate remains within the World Health Organization (WHO) at 3.04 percent of the 1,415 tested.
The critical care occupancy rate, on the other hand, also remains low at 19.3 percent for both public and private hospitals or only 180 occupied and 753 others as vacant.
The other patients are isolated at the Noah Complex with 38, CCQC with 33, BICs with 118 and 36 others in the hotels.
However, in the Emergency Operations Center’s latest data, after having 30 barangays without transmission the other day, it is now down to 26 and 54 others with active cases.
Guadalupe still tops the most number of COVID-19 cases, but is now only down to 24 from having over a hundred daily cases in previous months.
The likes of Lahug, Mabolo and Tisa, trail with 15 cases while Banilad has 12.
Death has also slowed down to only seven with 12 days down in the month of May already.
In DOH-VII’s case bulletin, Cebu City still has 586 active cases with some of its recoveries still to be verified along with that of the other LGUs under Region VII.
Lapu-Lapu City, on other hand, has 416 active cases, Mandaue City with 255 and Cebu Province with 517 based on DOH’s data.
Bohol Province, for their part, has 1,057 active cases, Negros Oriental with 605 and Siquijor with 16. — GMR (FREEMAN)
