No more OR/CR backlogs – LTO-7

Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  All applications for the registration of new motor vehicles in Central Visayas have already been completed, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) said.

LTO-7 Regional Director Victor Caindec said the agency no longer has backlogs for the registration of new motorcycles and motor vehicles.

If the dealer submitted the complete documents and processed the payments of the customer's purchased motorcycle or motor vehicle before April 30, 2021, Caindec said, "then your Original Certificate of Registration (CR) and Official Receipt (OR) has been released and already in the dealer's possession."

Caindec said the New Registration Unit and Manufacturers, Assemblers, Importers, Rebuilders, Dealers, Other Entities (MAIRDOES) already finished the processing of all applications filed on or before the said date.

“Wala nay pending. Basta gi-kompleto sa dealer ang papel pag submit unya nibayad na pag human og evaluate, humana ni nga mga transactions. Kuhaa na ninyo sa mga dealer ang inyong rehistro," he said.

The director also said the New Registration Unit (NRU) already released the registration papers for all applications made on or before the said date.

As of May 10, 2021, NRU released a total of 14,409 motorcycles and motor vehicle OR/CR for April; 15,290 for March; 12,773 for February; and 11,369 for January.

Caindec also reminded motorcycle owners to never accept non-original documents from their dealers even if their units are paid on installment.

“Ayaw og sugot kung dili original nga papeles ang ihatag, bisan pa og utang na, dapat original ang gi gunitan sa mga registered owners,” he said.

Moreover, Caindec announced that the regional office has been receiving plate numbers for Central Visayas from its Central Office that were registered since January 2018.

“Naa ang distribution center sa SM Seaside City Cebu sa Seaview Wing pero kinahanglan mo text gihapon mo una ma release. Ako ibalik, walay bayad ang pag release sa plaka, ma motor man or four-wheels," said Caindec.

For those who want to get their plates, they can test the plate number, MV file number, date of first registration, and name of the owner to 0947-349-9965. — KQD (FREEMAN)
