Motorists asked - Don't block road while taking pictures

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Transportation Office has asked the motorists not to obstruct the road along the Transcentral Highway if they want to take pictures.

Motorists should also observe road signs on Cebu City’s mountain roads to prevent accidents.

Some portions of the mountain roads are prone to vehicular accidents so the motorists should not obstruct the roads for picture taking.

“Wala may problema kanang picture-picture, pero atong seguraduhon nga dili lang siya makaali sa mga motorista nga mangagi. Adto lang gyud ta sa kilid,” said CCTO deputy chief of operations and information officer Paul Gotiong.

Some motorists reportedly got panic when they can no longer see road markings and signages obstructed by individuals who are taking pictures.

“Dili gyud malikayan nga ang mga tawo kay mangadto og bukid kay lage gustong ma-relax. Pero mo-follow lang gud ta sa sakto, dili lang maghimo og mga butang nga makababag sa dalan,” Gotiong added.

The city traffic office warned motorists traversing mountain areas to be careful and must follow the road signs.

Gotiong emphasized the importance of road signs which is one of the elements of the streets serving as communication, guide and warning for the drivers.

CCTO has intensified its enforcement of the traffic laws especially the illegally parked vehicles in the area. — GMR (FREEMAN)
