Search on for best 3rd bridge photos

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corp. has announced the conduct of a photo contest with the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway, the third bridge connecting Mactan Island to mainland Cebu, as the main subject.

“In appreciation of the many beautiful pictures of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) that have come out on various social media sites, the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) is holding a social media photo contest that will also serve to highlight the CCLEX’s role in the commemoration of the 500th year of Christianity in the Philippines,” read the post on the CCLEX page.

The contest will formally start April 15.

The start of the contest will coincide with the ceremonial lighting of the CCLEX crosses on the bridge’s two main towers at 6 pm. of April 15 and end on April 30.

“As a way of marking this momentous occasion, CCLEC encourages those posting CCLEX photos on their social media platforms to tag the official CCLEX Facebook and Instagram accounts @CCLEXexpressway and use the hashtags #CCLEXexpressway #MPTCExpressway #500YOC? for a chance to win cash prizes,” the post read.

“Only public posts can be considered for the photo contest,” it added.

The contest will be open in two categories -- general and best switch-on captures.

For the general photo entries, any photo entry of the CCLEX posted anytime from the start of the contest until the end of the month will suffice.

The first, second, and third placers in the general category will get P15,000, P10,000, and P5,000, respectively.

For the best switch-on captures, the contest will run from April 15 to midnight of April 16. Here, the grand prize winner will get P10,000 while the two other finalists will get P5,000 each.

The social media photo contest is open to everyone except to employees of CCLEC,  Cebu Link Joint Venture (CLJV), and their contractors.

Organizers said no purchase or payment is needed to join or win in the contest.

Those interested to join are requested to follow the official Facebook pages of @CCLEXexpressway on Facebook and Instagram and upload their photo entry/entries with the #CCLEXexpressway #mptcexpressway #500YOC? hashtags, tagging @CCLEXexpressway on Facebook and Instagram.

Participating photos must be set to the public privacy setting so contest organizers would be able to view them.

A photo entry can only win once. For photos taken by someone else, the participant must get the consent of the owner for the submission.

Also, the use of filters and editing of photos are permitted but digital manipulation that involves adding elements not in the original shot is prohibited.

Winners will be asked to submit the original file of the winning picture.  — JMD (FREEMAN)
