Labella assures more budget for NOAH improvement

CEBU, Philippines —  Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella has assured that an additional budget shall be provided for the improvement of the New Normal Oasis for Adaptation and a Home (NOAH) Complex at the South Road Properties which houses COVID-19 asymptomatic patients.

Labella said they will just ask for the budgetary requirement needed so that the facility will be installed with additional equipment which could help, especially in terms of sanitation.

“I think they are doing their best karon, i-improve ang paglimpyo,” Labella said.

Labella said he is confident that the complaints from some patients are already gradually being addressed by the NOAH administrators.

Last week, a Facebook post surfaced stating that NOAH Complex is allegedly “not conducive for isolation anymore”.

“We will address that problem,” said Labella.

Labella appealed to the patients housed at the isolation facility to have the initiative in keeping their respective areas clean before they move out.

“Mao na ako lang sa'ng hangyuon unta ang mga pasyente nga mogawas nga ila sa'ng limpyohan ang ilang gihigdaan, nga di lang sad sila mobiya ra sad without cleaning their bed ug unsa man gani,” he said.

Additional personnel have been deployed at the NOAH Complex to help maintain cleanliness of the isolation facility.

In a previous interview, Atty. Jocelyn Pesquera, NOAH manager, said at least 10 job order employees are being trained to keep the facility, especially the restrooms, clean.

Pesquera assured that management makes sure there is constant supply of water at NOAH as water is a basic necessity of patients.

She shared that additional shower rooms and comfort rooms will also be opened.

These interventions are meant to address the concerns raised by some patients, said Pesquera. — GMR (FREEMAN)
