CEBU, Philippines — The Task Force Kasaligan of the Cebu City Police Office has received an additional of 62 personnel who are now undergoing orientation.

They are set for deployment next week, said Police Lt. Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of CCPO.

In an interview, Parilla said that there are now a total of 180 members of the Task Force Kasaligan that will be roaming around the streets of the city to make sure that the minimum health standard protocols are properly observed.

They will be undergoing a three-day orientation that started yesterday morning until tomorrow.

“Mao na ni sila atong last batch kay mao na ni sila ang gi-allot nga personnel sa Kasaligan na 180 kabuok,” said Parilla.

He added that these individuals were filtered and identified as registered voters of Cebu City.

Parilla said they will be deployed in the stations that were not able to receive augmentation during the first reactivation of the Task Force Kasaligan last February 3, 2021.

It was first reported that six stations among the 11 stations under the CCPO were not able to receive an augmentation due to the lack of number of force multipliers.

“The same kung unsay function atong mga first nato nga task force nga daku kaayo og tabang especially sa atong mga health protocols ug mga ordinansa so mao ni nakatabang og daku,” said Parilla.

The force multipliers will be divided into teams and will be supervised by a team leader from the police.

At present, Parilla said that since the augmentation of the first batch of the Task Force Kasaligan, several individuals were apprehended in interior portions of the barangays that have been constantly rounded up.

“Daghan na sad tang mga nadawat nga report nga naa say mga daghan kaayong magtapok-tapok, dili na mag-facemask sa mga interior, so karon, gina-address na nato karon,” he added.

Parilla however said that in comparison to their previous rounding up, violators have been decreasing in figures. On their latest assessment, individuals with most crowds are usually in the markets.

“In general, kung imong lantawon siya, nisunod na baya gyud ang mga tawo,”said Parilla.

The additional force multipliers will also help the police in the monitoring for the Sunday lockdowns implemented in the barangays to limit the movement of the people. — GMR (FREEMAN)
