CEBU, Philippines —  A biker and a motorcycle rider died after having been involved in a road accident happened in Cebu South Road Properties early morning yesterday.

The still unidentified biker was believed to be at his 50s while the motorist was identified as certain Jason Inot, 34, a resident of Daanlungsod, Medellin, Cebu.

According to the police investigation, the motorist was travelling towards Talisay City. However, he allegedly lost control and hit the victim who was about to cross the road carrying his bicycle.

"Kining ning victim ninglabay ni cross sa pedestrian and then kaning suspect, and then wala niya ma-control, wala guro niya makita kining milabang, iyang naigo kining biktima," said Police Lt. Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Due to the impact of the crash, both individuals were declared dead on arrival upon rushing into the hospital.

"So wala tay ma file-lan ug kaso kay parehas man silang (dead)," said Parilla.

Parilla further said that they believed that the motorist has been in a fast speed when the incident happened.

"Kusog-kusog gyud seguro ning dagan kay diha nga side going to South kay free na nagdagan ana kay ang mo-traffic ra ana kay ang going to downtown area," said Parilla.

Parilla also reminded the public to be extra careful in driving specially in the said area considering that the vehicles in SRP are usually fast-moving.

"Mag-amping gyud ta aning lugara labi na kung mag-drive ta mga two-wheels na vehicle kay dali kaayo ta na madisgrasya labi na kung duna tay sipyat sa atong desisyon while driving," said Parilla. — GMR (FREEMAN)
