Turkey names new consul general in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines —  The Republic of Turkey has appointed a new Honorary Consul General in Cebu following the retirement of Madame Leontina L. Benedicto due to health reasons.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appointed Mrs. Lilian Benedicto-Huan as Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Cebu upon the recommendation of Ambassador Artemiz Sumer.

Benedicto-Huan’s jurisdiction covers the entire Visayas Island in her capacity with the charge of protecting all the rights and interests of the Turkish nationals who are in her consular district and of lending her assistance to the development of the commercial affairs.

Her function is in conformity to the treaties and agreements concluded between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of the Philippines. — (FREEMAN)
