P23 million infra project breaks ground
CEBU, Philippines — A P23.8 million multi-purpose building is set to be constructed at the causeway in Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City.
The Department of Public Works and Highways – Cebu 6th District Engineering Office and the Office of Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Representative Paz Radaza held a groundbreaking ceremony for the infrastructure project on January 14.
Radaza said the building is envisioned to be part of the port facilities that will be developed at the said causeway.
Radaza said the construction of the building at the causeway is among her key priority projects.
“Karon nga congresswoman ko, naningkamot ko nga mapadayon nako ang akong mga nasugdan niadtong mayor ko sa syudad. Naghinaot ko nga mahatagan ug convenience ug comfort ang atong mga igsoon nga mobiyahe padulong sa mga isla ug pabalik diri,” said Radaza, the city’s former mayor.
On the other hand, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan’s “Ahong Cares Bayanihan Project” is now gaining ground as city residents work hand-in-hand with private donors to pave interior roads.
Currently, five segments of the more than two kilometers road in some of the city’s interior roads were already paved and about half kilometer road is ongoing.
Aside from road concreting, a drainage and other small infrastructures in the city were among the results of the project.
Chan has appealed to his constituents to continue helping each other out through the bayanihan project. — KQD (FREEMAN)
