PRO-7 gets patrol jeeps, vests
CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office (PRO) in Central Visayas has received 37 patrol jeeps and 379 undershirt vests from the police national headquarters.
These are expected to help the cops better enforce laws and security measures amid the pandemic.
Police Brigadier General Ronnie Montejo, PRO-7 chief, said these will also help “strengthen” the competence of the regional police force in the fight against criminality.
"Kining mga sakyanan karon, multi-purpose ni, pwede ni nato i-augment sa mga programa sa atong mga LGU lalo na sa paghikayat ug pagbalik sa turismo. So naa sa ato ug unsaon nato pag gamit. Sana lahat ng mga ito ay maganda ang kahihinatnan," Montejo said during the turnover ceremony on Wednesday.
Of the 37 patrol jeeps, 10 are for Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) received; 12 for Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO); and nine for Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO).
CPPO also received 155 undershirt vests, while NOPPO got 87 vests.
The rest of the undershirt vests were given to Cebu City Police Office and
Mandaue City Police Office, both got 55 each; and Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (25 pieces).
"Maka augment ta dili lang manpower kundili logistical forces nato, labi na sa mobility kay dili gyud nato ikalimod nga kinahanglan gyud og mobility sa PNP," said Montejo. — KQD (FREEMAN)
