2 Talisay malls allowed to sell pyro materials

Gabriel C. Bonjoc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — At least two malls in Talisay City have already been issued permits by the Bureau of Fire Protection to sell pyrotechnics.

City Fire Marshal, Senior Fire Insp. Arnel Abella, said the products include firecrackers and for fireworks display.

Abella said that the city will not set up a designated area for the sale of pyrotechnics this year.

He warned that they will confiscate pyrotechnics displayed for sale anywhere.

Talisay City Police Station chief, Major Gerard Ace Pelare, asked vendors not to sell pyrotechnics anywhere in order not to waste money.

The city imposes no ban on sale of pyrotechnic materials. This is to prevent people from gathering around especially in this time of pandemic. —GMR (FREEMAN)
