CEBU, Philippines —  A newly-concreted road in Barangay Dunggoan, Danao City that costs P13 million was inaugurated last Friday.

"Wala nako hikalimti ang tabang ug suporta sa mga taga Barangay Dunggoan, mao nang paglingkod palang nako niadtong 2019 isip bag-ong kongresista sa Kinto Distrito, ako dayong gilihok na maapil gayud sa 2020 General Appropriations Act ang budget alang sa pagsemento niining naong dalan," said Cebu Fifth District Representative Duke Frasco.

Barangay Dunggoan is said to be close to Frasco's heart as it was the place where Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte reiterated her support and endorsed Frasco in a grand rally in the 2019 elections.

Frasco thanked the people of Danao City for choosing him as congressman because, through it, the road is now concreted which he said the people longed for.

Cebu Fifth District Board Member Red Duterte, Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco, barangay officials, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cebu Fifth District Engineer Yusoph Rasuman, Assistant District Engineer Roy Dela Cruz, and the contractor attended the inauguration.

On the same day, Duke and Christina also inaugurated newly concreted roads in Barangays San Vicente and Tayud in Liloan, Cebu.

In her Facebook post, Christina said the newly concreted roads in Liloan was worth over P60 million.

"The San Vicente Road provides vital passage from Poblacion and to our mountain barangays, making access to opportunities, travel, and trade easier for residents. Bikers visiting Liloan on the weekends have also enjoyed the wide expanse of these high quality roads," she said.

The Tayud road, on the other hand, leads to Bag-ong Daan in Barangay Yati which provides a critical link between the two national highways traversing the town.

This development is said to benefit various industries and obviate traffic woes of motorists. — GAN (FREEMAN)
