CEBU, Philippines — Markets and supermarkets in Liloan town, northern Cebu may now be accessed by the public at any given day after the municipal government lifted the previous regulation and delineation of access to the said areas.

Liloan Mayor Christina Garcia-Frasco issued Executive Order No. 12A lifting a part of the previously issued EO No. 12, which regulates access to and operation of market and supermarkets in the town.

“The schedule previously set in Executive Order No. 2020-12 regulating and delineating access of barangays and other LGUs to all wet and dry public and private markets and supermarkets in the Municipality of Liloan is hereby lifted. The public can now access these areas at any given day provided health and safety protocols are strictly observed,” the new EO reads.

The schedule for disinfection and sanitation, however, remain in full effect, according to the EO.

Gaisano Mall is open for seven days, and disinfection will be done after the closing hour at 7 p.m. Panphil B. Frasco market, on the other hand, is close for disinfection every Thursday, while Barangay Yati Market and Capulay, Barangay Tayud Market are scheduled on Mondays.

Barajac, Barangay Poblacion Market is also close on Tuesdays for disinfection.

“Failure to observe the schedule and infection and sanitation shall result in revocation of business permits and/or closure of establishement,” the EO adds.

All the public and private wet and dry markets in Liloan are close at 6 p.m., while supermarkets are close at 7 p.m., except those specifically allowed to operate on a 24-hour basis and/or those providing frontline government services, emergency and /or health services, medicines or medical supplies. — KQD (FREEMAN)
