Couple shot dead inside their house
CEBU, Philippines — A couple from Talisay City was shot dead inside their house at Purok Saging, Sitio Oregano, Barangay Lawaan 2, Talisay City last Sunday evening.
The victims were identified as Verginia Tupas, 55, a fish vendor, and Roel Tupas, 60, unemployed.
In its initial investigation, the Talisay police learned that the couple were already asleep in their house when two unidentified men barged in and shot them.
Upon hearing the gunshots, the couple's neighbors went out to check and found two men rushing to get out of the victims' residence.
The victims' neighbors called out for help, but the couple died on the spot.
Members of the Scene of the Crime Operations had recovered seven empty shells and one bullet at the crime scene.
Police Major Gerard Arce, Talisay City Police Station chief, said the victims' relatives are still in shock.
He added that they still could not determine the motive in the killing, since they still have to talk to the victims' relatives. — GAN (FREEMAN)
