More than 7,000 residents recover from COVID-19

CEBU, Philippines — The number of COVID-19 recoveries in Cebu City has breached the 7,000-mark.

Based on the official Facebook page of the Department of Health (DOH)-7, the city has recorded a total of 7,006 recoveries, with the 10 newly-reported recoveries last Thursday.

On the other end, the 22 additional cases recorded has brought the total number of COVID cases to 9,314, about 1,701 of them are still active.

The total number of deaths is at 607, two of them are newly reported.

In Mandaue City, the total number of cases has reached 2,120, with 880 active cases. There are 23 new cases recorded. There are 21 new recoveries reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,162.

There are 78 COVID deaths in Mandaue, after one new death was reported.

Lapu-Lapu City, for its part, has 2,027 COVID-19 cases, with 679 active cases. There were 13 new cases recorded, based on the latest DOH-7 update.  They have 1,275 total recoveries, 53 of which are newly reported.

The city’s number of deaths remained at 73, as no new death was recorded per the latest update.

In Cebu Province, the total cases have already reached 2,216, with 703 active cases, after recording additional 41 cases.

The number of recoveries is at 1,391, 50 of these are new.  About 122 had died from COVID, after recording one new death.

As of Thursday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas stands at 17,622, with 4,244 active cases.  There are 12,357 reported recoveries, and 1,021 deaths. /GAN (FREEMAN)
