Flood control structure completed in Consolacion
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Sixth District Representative Emmarie "Lolypop" Ouano-Dizon has facilitated the construction of flood control structure along Cansaga River (Phase IV) in Consolacion, Cebu.
The Cansaga River Flood Control Project has a budget of P27,865,000, which will cover stone masonry with plastering measuring 504 meters.
Ouano-Dizon, in a statement, said that this flood control project is an essential measure since flooding endangers public safety and contributes to the traffic problem when the river overflows.
"We are giving flood control a priority, so we facilitated a budget of P27million. Nalipay ko nga ang DPWH is making sure nga matiwas gyud ni nga project bisan pa man sa initial nga kalisdanan during quarantine restrictions,” Ouano-Dizon said.
Ouano-Dizon is also optimistic she could secure for more budget next year and will try her best to complete the structure of the whole stretch.
The Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH)-Sixth Engineering District has implemented and supervised the project.
Engineers from DPWH-Cebu Sixth district led by Assistant District Engineer Wilma Campos and Cansaga barangay officials led by Barangay Captain Denmark Prame joined Ouano-Dizon in the visit and ensuring the project is completed on time. GAN (FREEMAN)
