Teacher, pal fall in drug bust

CEBU, Philippines — A public teacher and his cohort were arrested during a buy-bust operation Wednesday night in the mountain barangay Sirao in Cebu City

Operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) arrested Gary James Tumulak Dela Cerna, 39, and his companion Joliber Magno Leyson, 23, in sitio Tawagan.

Dela Cerna, a public school teacher, was also identified by the police as high-value of CCPO. Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Korret, chief of the City Mobile Force Company, Dela Cerna is a known drug personality in the barangay.

He was reportedly placed under surveillance for a considerable period of time before his arrest. Seized from the suspects were 50 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P340,000. Criminal charges are already being prepared against him and his cohort. FPL (FREEMAN)
