Dad asks Cebuanos: Take order seriously

Alicia Ivy L. Chua - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Councilor Phillip Zafra is asking the public to take the “stay at home” order seriously.

This, after reports from different barangays showed that they have residents violating the order.

Zafra said that the police personnel have decided to apply the full force of the law in dealing with the violators.

“Well ato lang gyud gi-intensify and we apply it more strictly kay ato man nakita these past days na murag gi-balewala lang sa mga tao and we are under uncertain and extraordinary times,” said Zafra.

He added that the police would check on those wandering in the streets and will be asked of their intentions of going out and when proven that they are just out for leisure, they will be brought to the police station to explain.

He said that among the violators are minors.  The minors would be accordingly warned and their parents would be called to explain.

“For now amo lang sa gihangyo ang mga barangay kapitan na hugtan ang ilang pag-monitor sa mga batan-on. And amo sab sila gi hangyo na ang mga ginikanan ipa tawag gyud,” said Zafra.

Based on the reports, most of the violators are from the remote areas wherein there are still residents who would choose to go out and mingle outside their homes, Zafra said.

“Mao na ato gyud gihangyo ang mga kabarangayan na sila mismo will do their part, will do their share in observance of the executive orders especially the stay at home policy,” said Zafra.

Zafra is asking the public to follow the rules and instructions given by the authorities in this time of Enhanced Community Quarantine.

“Ako ni gi balik-balik og panawagan ani nila na unta ato lang tumanon unsay lagda, ug unsay mga gipakanaog na instruction sa gobyerno pila raman ni ka adlaw. Di man ni gi-ingon na hangtod sa hangtod, pero kung dili gyud ta mo kooperar, magpasabot na kini ato pagkabutang wala pa gyud klaro,” said Zafra.

Yesterday, the police personnel have been monitoring the private and public beaches and resorts to make sure that there will be no one going against the order.  GAN (FREEMAN)
