PRO-7 to assist in nCoV-ARD contact tracing
CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 is willing to extend its support to conduct contact tracing of the two Chinese nationals who visited the cities of Cebu and Dumaguete.
PRO-7 Director Valeriano De Leon said in a press conference that they already received a directive from Philippine National Police Chief Archie Gamboa to provide assistance to the Department of Health.
“Ang may specific directive dyan yung DOH, but we received a directive coming from Chief PNP to provide assistance to DOH,” De Leon said.
He added that he already gave directives to the Negros Provincial Police Office (NORPPO) to extend support to locate the people that the two Chinese nationals could have interacted with.
The Chinese woman was the first case found positive of the novel corona virus acute respiratory disease in the country. Her partner, who was the country’s second case, died over the weekend.
At present, the PRO-7 personnel are on standby and are willing to assist when in need.
De Leon has urged his people to be safe and have proper hygiene, so that they will not be affected of the virus.
PRO-7 is also willing to give mask for its police personnel that will conduct the tracing. (FREEMAN)
