ATMs available soon on Camotes Islands

CEBU, Philippines — Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) will soon be available on the remote islands of Camotes, northern Cebu.

This is as per the memorandum of agreement signed by the Cebu provincial government and the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

Sugbo News, the official news site of the Cebu Provincial Public Information Office (PIO), released a report that LBP Assistance Vice President and Cebu Capitol branch head Maria Barbara Fernandez made a promise to Governor Gwen Garcia for the installation of ATMs on Camotes Islands and at the Cebu South Bus Terminal in Cebu City.

This was made during their meeting on January 22.

The governor reportedly requested LBP to install the ATM machines to make cash transfer more accessible and convenient to the residents of the province and the passengers.

The meeting was held primarily for the agreement between the provincial government and LBP to partner for the employees’ payroll needs.

Thus, both parties have also agreed to add one more ATM unit at the Capitol.

Along with this, units will also be installed at the provincial hospitals located in the cities of Bogo, Carcar and Danao, and the municipality of Balamban.

Fernandez thanked Garcia for the opportunity to serve the Cebuanos.

“Nalipay mi’g dako kaayo ug nagpasalamat kami kang Gov. Gwen Garcia sa paghatag sa amo og higayon nga makabalik mi sa among pagserbisyo sa among payroll facilities sa tanan empleyado sa probinsya sa Cebu,” Fernandez was quoted to have said in the Sugbo News article.   KQD (FREEMAN)
