6 men arrested in PDEA buy-bust

CEBU, Philippines — Six persons were arrested while inside an alleged drug den during a buy-bust operation that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 has conducted at Block 7, Sitio Buaran, Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City last Tuesday night.

Those arrested were identified as Bernardo Vicente Son, 22, who was the target of the buy-bust and an alleged drug den maintainer; Remar Samarez, 32; Jenel Nicolas, 33; Wendel Fernandez, 27; Jeremy Solis, 42; and Jimboy De Lima, 30, who allegedly came to visit the alleged drug den.

Seized from the suspects were six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 11 grams and valued P75,000 and drug paraphernalia.

PDEA-7 Spokesperson Leia Alcantara said that they have been monitoring the subject for days already, after they received information about his alleged involvement in illegal drugs as well as maintaining a drug den.

Alcantara said that all the suspects are now in their lock-up jail pending the filing of the case for violation of Article II of RA 9165 against them.  GAN (FREEMAN)
