Buy-bust in Mandaue City nets P10 million worth of shabu

CEBU, Philippines — Two suspected drug personalities, including a high-value target, were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Chicos, Barangay Tawason in Mandaue City yesterday, resulting in the confiscation of Illegal drugs worth 10 million.

At least P10.2 million worth of drugs weighing around two kilograms were seized from Jerson Soriano Collamat, a 22-year-old high-value target, and Pablito Laglario,33.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Franco Rudolf Oriol of Mandaue City Police Office said Collamat, the primary subject of the operation, was placed under surveillance for a week prior to the conduct of the buy-bust.

Oriol said Collamat belonged to a drug group and used to dispose of huge volume of drugs.

“He can dispose of at least two kilos of shabu per week,” he said.

Oriol refused to discuss further about Collamat’s drug group owing to an ongoing investigation.

Moreober, the police official said Collamat owns a vape shop.

Oriol said they are checking if the shop was used in the conduct of illegal transactions.

“We are checking if his illegal transactions were done inside his shop,” he said, adding that Mandaue police are also looking into his drug network.  KQD (FREEMAN)
