MyBus admits spillage, apologizes to Gullas

Gabriel C. Bonjoc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  The management of MyBus has apologized to Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas after a gasoline spillage incident involving one of its units caused minor accidents among motorcycle riders at the South Road Properties (SRP) the past weeks.

Dennise Trajano, president of the Metro Rapid Transit Service Inc., has sent a letter to Gullas dated January 3.

In the letter, they had admitted the spillage incident involving their bus which also prompted them to make their own investigation.

They also investigated their driver who reportedly did not stop after knowing the spillage.

The gasoline had spilled on the road and caused motorists to slip and fell off from their motorcycles. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported.

Gullas has since accepted the apology and hoped that the incident would not happen again.

Jonathan Tumulak, traffic czar of Talisay City, said the MyBus operator may get its bus at the City Hall compound, where it was impounded.

Tumulak added that they may repair and get the unit after paying the P5,000 penalty.

Another unit of MyBus would ferry passengers who wish to go to the city and vice versa, especially during Sinulog.  GAN (FREEMAN)
