The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Reducing crimes and eliminating criminals within Central Visayas are the Police Regional Office (PRO)–7’s objective for 2020.

“This year, let us set our sights and directions straight, and pave a way to reduce crime and eliminate criminals, who threaten the peace and order of the region,” Chief Police Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon of PRO-7 said.

In addition, De Leon stated in his speech that his administration will develop a culture of responsibility and accountability.

“2020 would be a year of better-improved PNP and better services to the community,” De Leon said.

De Leon, during the New Year’s Call 2020 on Thursday morning at the Grand Convention Center Cebu, added that ethics and values of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will be impelled among policemen.

“For each and every one of us who will do small good deeds means 10,216 good things happening every day in Central Visayas,” De Leon added.

The policemen were also reminded that the presence of every single police personnel signifies the commitment and dedication of service they have to the community.

De Leon, in his speech, stated that the efforts of the policemen paid off by getting the trust of the people, which made their jobs easier.

The PNP will continue to work hard with dignity and honesty, and give their full attention to the community.

Cebu City Police Office Director Engelbert Soriano also laid down his vision for the city cops.

“We planned to improve the working attitude of the police to be more visible and be felt by the people,” Soriano said.

He added to have the campaign on illegal drugs more intensified to arrest more criminals around the city.

The New Year’s Call is a yearly tradition of PRO-7 that indicates the loyalty and allegiance to the leadership, and mission and vision of PNP. Katrina C. Alvarez, USJ-R Intern, GAN (FREEMAN)
