Church not soliciting to build tabernacle

CEBU, Philippines —  The Archdiocese of Cebu has clarified that they are not collecting donations for the construction of a new tabernacle, as claimed in some social media reports.

Fr. Andrei Ventanilla, chairman of the Commission on Youth and one of the secretaries of Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma, said what is spreading in social media about the archdiocese soliciting donations is nothing but fake news.

Ventanilla said netizen who receive solicitation requests should report those who made them to the Archbishop’s Palace.
