CEBU, Philippines — About 51 murals done by PNP artists featuring the different tourist destinations of Cebu province were launched at the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) yesterday.

Governor Gwen Garcia said that the murals were similar to the two programs which were done in her term before, the Suroy-Suroy Sugbo and Pasigarbo sa Sugbo.

“Gihimoan lang og bag-o nga twist, nahimo na og Suroy Suroy sa CPPO ug Pasigarbo sa Kampo. Entering into this CPPO complex and seeing all of these murals make me feel like coming home again as Gwen who loved and supported the PNP in her first three terms of her governorship,” said Garcia.

She added that change has indeed come to Cebu, a positive change that is, and she gives credit to Police Colonel Roderick Mariano, Provincial Director of CPPO, for accomplishing so much in just a span of six months in the position.

“Count on me, count me in Colonel Mariano in all of your projects. Gwen Garcia and the province of Cebu will be squarely behind you, you can count on our full support,” said Garcia.

She said that Suroy-Suroy Sugbo allows its participants experience the beauty and charm of the towns and people of the province.

“It is what the Suroy-Suroy has done and it is what the Suroy-Suroy will continue to do in all of our towns and cities. This time around, change is not only coming to the CPPO, but change is coming as well to the province of Cebu. May we all join hands in the quest, in this march to make Cebu number one again,” said Garcia.

The first part of Suroy-Suroy Sugbo was done in the 22 southern cities and municipalities of the province, and the next leg will be in the northern heritage trail on January 22-24, 2020.

Garcia, the Philippine National Police-Central Visayas (PNP-7) head cops and local government unit officials graced the unveiling activity. (FREEMAN)
