Woman arrested for hitting salesgirl

CEBU, Philippines — A 33-year-old woman was arrested by the Mabolo Police for hitting a promodiser with a humidifier at a mall in Cebu City Saturday night.

Mabolo Police chief Dindo Juanito Alaras said the incident occurred at the height of an argument of how the humidifier works.

A video that captured the incident went viral on social media. It shows the suspect, Medelina Berja Yamazaki, while carrying a baby, arguing with the promodiser, Jennifer Fabillar. Yamazaki was heard raising her voice and eventually seen picking up the humidifier and throwing it at Fabillar’s face.

Fabillar was hit in her right eye. She filed a formal complaint for physical injuries and elements of the Mabolo Police arrested Yamazaki Sunday at her residence at the Cebu Business Park. Yamazaki did not resist arrest.

Alaras said Yamazaki and Fabillar are expected to face each other as a formal case is filed. Yamazaki as refused to be interviewed. (FREEMAN)
