Pasko sa V. Rama gets P500 thousand budget from city

CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu City government continues to spread the spirit of Christmas as they launch “Pasko sa V. Rama 2019” on Monday, December 9.

This is the 24th year of the program spearheaded by Vice Mayor Michael Rama.

Rama said he is glad for the support the city government has shown for the activity, which is dedicated to the poor. He said the city government has allocated a budget amounting to P500,000 for “Pasko sa V. Rama 2019.”

During the launching, a holy mass will take place at San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish at 1:00 pm. It will be followed by a parade, where the assembly area is at corner V. Rama and B. Aranas Street, Barangay San Nicolas Proper.

After the parade will be a program to be held at Espina Compound, Barangay Guadalupe at 4:00 pm. There will be a Christmas tree lighting and fireworks display after the program.

There are four competitions for the celebration of “Pasko sa V. Rama.”

For the Belen Making Contest, the winners will receive P20T; P15T; and P10T for the first, second, and third placers, respectively. The consolation price is P500.

For this year, there are 22 entries from Barangays Guadalupe, Calamba, and San Nicolas. Each cluster was given a seed money worth P5,000.

For the Lantern Making Contest, the first placer will receive P15T; P10T for the second prize; and P5T for the third placer. For Best House Decoration Contest, the first prize will get P3,000; second placer will get P2,000, while the third placer will get P1,000.

Lastly, the winners of the Establishment Decoration Contest will receive P3,500; P2, 500; and P2,000 for the first, second, and third placers, respectively.  FPL (FREEMAN)
