3 HVTs nabbed in Talisay operation

CEBU, Philippines — Three high-value targets were nabbed, while two others eluded arrest, during the simultaneous implementation of search warrants that yielded at least P400,000 worth of suspected shabu in Talisay City.

In line with the Oplan Limpyo Talisay, the Talisay City Police Station has secured search warrants against high-value targets from Executive Judge Jacinto Fajardo Jr. of Branch 66 last November 22.

At around 10 p.m. on that day, the five search warrants were implemented by the Talisay PNP along with the personnel of the 1st PMFC, 2nd PMFC and PIB, CPPO which resulted in the arrests and shabu confiscations.

Among those arrested was Dioverlyn Briones, 27, from Sitio Salvador, Barangay Tangke, Talisay City.

Confiscated from her were suspected shabu with estimated weight of 15.42 grams and valued at P100,000.

A few hours after, Maissa Ramirez Rosco, 29, who was previously convicted for violation of Sec 11, RA 9165 and released through plea bargaining and is residing at Sitio Neighborhood, Tabunok, Talisay City, was arrested at around 12:45 a.m.

Confiscated from her was 24.6 grams of suspected shabu with estimated value of at least P160,000.

At around 2:40 a.m., Rolly Morello, 29, from Sitio Ilang-Ilang, San Isidro, Talisay City was nabbed.

Seized from him were 15.84 grams of suspected shabu with estimated value of at least P100,000.

The fourth subject Emeliano Ranghos, 43, from San Antonio, Linao, Talisay City eluded the arrest.

However, authorities were able to confiscate a total of at least P37,000 worth of suspected shabu with estimated weight of  5.50 grams.

The last subject Edgardo Esguerra Cabriana, 54, from Sitio Sambag, Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, also eluded arrest.

The authorities, however, were able to seize 11.47 grams of suspected shabu with estimated value of at least P70,000.

In total, the Talisay Police Station confiscated at least of 72.83 grams of suspected shabu with estimated value of P495,244.

Police Major Gerald Ace Pelare said that the arrest of the suspects would lessen the supply of illegal drugs around Barangay Tangke.

At present, the suspects are under police custody, as the authorities are digging further if they are linked to a big drug group. (FREEMAN)
