CEBU, Philippines — Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 Director Debold Sinas will be implementing the same method and same policies that he had done here when he becomes the NCRPO Chief by next week.

He said he will not invent any policy, but would just rather strictly implement the directives from the PNP Chief, like what he has done before.

Sinas said he had already plotted several plans for the National Capital Region, however, he will still be talking to his men for the proper implementation.

He emphasized that he will be prioritizing the war against drugs.

“At least I’m happy to have served Central Visayas for one year and four months. And hopefully, I’m just hoping that I was able to make a difference and elevate the PNP service in Central Visayas,” Sinas said.

He added that they are now coordinating with the administration in NCRPO for the schedule of the official turnover that is set to take place next week.

Sinas gave all the credits of his performance to the police personnel of Region 7.

Sinas is set to replace Police Major General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, and he is hopeful that he could match the latter’s performance to meet the people’s expectation.

He also said he still has yet to receive the official announcement as to who will be replacing him at PRO-7.

However, he assured that he will be attending the formal turnover to ‘compare notes’ and to officially convey his gratitude to the people of PRO-7, who assisted him throughout his service in Central Visayas.

In the meantime, Deputy for Administration Police Colonel Ildebrandi Usana will stand as the officer-in-charge (OIC) until the turnover of the new Regional Director-7 is set.

“For the time being, Camp Crame issued na,, Si Ildibrandi Usana, akong deputy will assume OIC until such time na naay ipuli,”  Sinas said.

As a legacy, Sinas highlighted the PNP’s war on drugs during his stint as PRO-7 chief.

They had conducted 9,966 buy-bust operations with 14,223 arrested individuals.  Among the 14,223 include 1,445 that are in the watchlist – 313 of them were high-value targets, while 1,132 were identified as station level target.

During these operations, 136 people died.

The operations also netted at least 189,000 kilos of shabu that costs at least P1.3 billion, while there were at least 485,000 kilos of marijuana valued at P58 million.

They also seized 531 firearms.

During his time, Sinas emphasized the help of the PRO-7 dancer and the band that helped in gathering the people.

He as well emphasized the success of the two “one time big time operation” that was dubbed as Oplan Sauron in Negros Oriental.

Sinas said that he will be bringing some of his staff members from PRO-7 to NCRPO.

He added that his transfer to NCRPO would be a big challenge, considering the mix culture and the number of population. (FREEMAN)
