STL in Lapu-Lapu can resume, but

CEBU, Philippines — Lapu-Lapu City’s suspension of Small Town Lottery operations has already been lifted effective last September 1, according to the clearance presented by the Lucky 7 Games and Amusement Corp. signed by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Royina Garma.

Along with the clearance is the indication that STL outlets of Lapu-Lapu City were now authorized to resume their operations.

A certain “Roland” who claimed to be the administrator of the said corporation, said that the order to lift the suspension was announced last August 28.

He also claimed that Lapu-Lapu City was one of those areas where the compliance of the requirements to operate again has been met.

Lapu-Lapu City Police Office director Police Colonel Carlito Baja said he has received the information to let STLs resume their operations, but no formal order has reached them yet as of Monday afternoon.

“Basta karon wala pa ko kadawat ug any formal letter basta naa nakoy attached info na pwede na mag-operate ang STL,” Baja said, adding that the information to let STL outlets resume their operations was given to him verbally.

Baja assured to release the formal information to verify the authorization once given by the PCSO.

It was reported the other day that both Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City STL outlets were not yet authorized to operate. However, as of September 1, the suspension of Lapu-Lapu City STL outlets has been lifted.

Moreover, Cebu City Police Office director, Police Colonel Gemma Vinluan, also clarified that it will be the PCSO that will be the one to authorize STL outlets to operate, and not the PNP. (FREEMAN)
