Man shot by “former boss”
CEBU, Philippines — A 26-year-old-man was shot dead allegedly by his former employer in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, last Thursday around 7 p.m.
According to witnesses, Jason Gader Alonzo, a resident of the area, was sitting beside the street in Barangay Labangon when the culprit suddenly appeared and shot him several times. The wounded victim managed to run away to the other side of the street but end up falling to the ground.
The perpetrator was identified by witnesses as a certain “Jojo Budlat.” The perpetrator was Alonzo’s former employer, according to the victim’s live-in-partner. Initial investigation by the police led them to believe that the murder was due to a personal grudge.
The victim was brought via jeepney to the hospital. The driver even managed to stop by the Barangay Labangon Police Station quickly to report the incident.
However, upon reaching the hospital, the victim was declared dead on arrival.
The victim suffered three gunshots wounds, one in the shoulder, another in the right side of his chest, and another in the right armpit.
According to the investigator, Police Staff Sergeant John Samosa, they are still trying to determine the culprit’s real identity because no one in the area seems to know his actual name.
“Mangahadlok guro ni sila mutug-an,” Samosa added.
