Cops calling for witnesses
CEBU, Philippines — Police are now calling for community’s help in helping them find the perpetrators behind the alleged rape and abduction of a 19-year-old girl last July 10 in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.
This after no useful footage was found after they checked footage from security cameras in Barangay Budlaan where the perpetrators’ vehicle allegedly took her.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Jade Omayao, investigator of the Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk of the Mabolo Police Station, they are now looking for possible witnesses to help them in their ongoing investigation.
The victim has claimed she did not know the perpetrators who abducted and raped her. She also isn’t involved in any relationship or has any suitors.
The victim’s mother also said that her daughter’s routine is just going to school from the home and vice-versa, so it was impossible for her to get into any kind of trouble.
Meanwhile, Police Corporal Maria Theresa Jamiro, investigator of another rape case, that of a 17-year-old female in Barangay Sirao, Cebu City, last July 17, confirmed that a case has been filed against the 24-year-old suspect.
