Samsam to form Triple A task force and hotline

Gabriel C. Bonjoc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas, Jr., plans to create a 20-man task force equipped with skills and experience to immediately respond to the needs of the Talisaynons.

The task force would consist of carpenters, electricians and men that can desilt clogged drainage canals.

Gullas told reporters that the team will be under the supervision of his office through his trusted man, Deej Villanueva.

He added that if the budget would not bar him from hiring people to be a member of the task force then there is no reason for the delay.

Vice Mayor Alan Bucao expressed his utmost support to the programs of Gullas. He said that some programs of the young mayor may be implemented this year but the rest may have to wait for next year’s budget.

Gullas is set to announce the Triple A (Aksyon Agad sa Administrasyon) hotline number soon.

The hotline will not only address the problems of the constituents but will also accommodate complaints concerning erring government employees.

“Akong hangyo sa tanan nga mga empleyado nga kun mahimo og sulbad ang problema sa inyong opisina, sulbara. Kun dili sab mahimo atong tabangan aron masulbad,” Gullas added.

(I request all employees to fix problems internally within your office. But if it can’t be helped, then we’ll try to solve it together.)

However, he stressed out that there are problems that may not be solved especially without the help of the public.

The city mayor also sought the help of the constituents for the quick solution of their concerns.

On his first day as Talisay City Mayor, Gullas emphasized that he wanted people in the government to do their job sincerely for the satisfaction of the public. (FREEMAN)
