CEBU, Philippines — Close to P800,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from a high-value target during a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of Police Station 10 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 at Sitio Caduloy, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City yesterday.

The suspect was identified as Mike Vincent Oliamot, 22, a resident of Ponce 1, Barangay Careta, Cebu City.

Oliamot was arrested for violating section 5 (illegal selling of shabu) and section 11 (illegal possession of shabu) of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Seized from Oliamot were 22 medium sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 110 grams worth P748,000.

According to Police Major Henrix Bancoleta, Oliamot allegedly is a big-time pusher.  They are still verifying if the suspect is also a user.

The suspect is currently detained at the Police Station 10 cell, while the drugs seized from the suspect were brought to Philippine National Police (PNP) crime laboratory.

4 Nabbed

Meanwhile, almost P19,000 worth of suspected drugs were seized from four suspects in separate buy-bust operations last Friday in Barangays Mambaling and Sambag 2, Cebu City.

The suspects were identified as Arnold “Pahak” Mendoza, 44, Warren Daomani, 20, Arnel Tecson, 20, all residents of Sitio Puntod Alaska, Barangay Mambaling and Jonard Balderas, 43, a resident of Sitio Upper Kawayan, Sambag 2, Cebu City.

Mendoza, Daomani, and Tecson were arrested at Sitio Puntod Alaska, Barangay Mambaling around 1:30 a.m. last June 21 during a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Police Station 11 led by Police Captain Caezar Accompañado and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)- 7.

Seized from Mendoza were 18 small and one medium plastic packs believed to be shabu; two small sachets of suspected shabu from Daomani and two small sachets believed to be shabu from Tecson.

The confiscated illegal drugs have an estimated weight of 6.32 grams worth P8,976.

The three suspects are currently detained at the Mambaling Police Station.

Meanwhile, operatives of Police Station 2 led by Police Major Eduard Sanchez conducted a buy-bust operation at Sitio Upper Kawayan, Barangay Sambag 2 about 1:05 a.m. last June 21that resulted in the arrest of Jonard Balderas.

The police recovered four small sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.40 grams worth P9,520 and P200 believed to be proceeds of his illegal trade.

Balderas is now detained at the Police Station 2 cell.

The four suspects will be separately charged for violation of section 5 (illegal selling of shabu) and section 11 (illegal possession of shabu), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. - Diane Leizle A. Ganar (FREEMAN)
